"Mission Mill"

Thomas Kay Woolen Mill - early photo

Mission Mill was once Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. The red brick building was originally built 1889,  but burned and was replaced with the current building 1896.  The mill made wool blankets and fabrics for seventy years.  The Thomas Kay Woolen Mill is the only wool mill museum west of Missouri.  A wheel turbine provides energy for the mill. The museum also features the homes of the Jason Lee mission group of the 1840s.
